OctPoWriMo 22 - SURPRISE-An Acrostic

Show me something new:

Upset and set askew

Reality for me.

Pervert the expectation;

Reach above your station:

It will set you free.

Shine, and I will too,

Eager to break through.

OctPoWriMo 3 - INSECURE, An Acrostic

Today's prompt is insecurity. I found myself digging deep into my fears for this one.

INSECURE, An Acrostic

I wish that I could know and yet
Nothing’s ever certain.
Seeing is believing, but
Experience can vary.
Changing everything I know,
Upending until nothing
Remains except myself alone,
Empty and forsaken.

OctPoWriMo 11 - Feisty Quiet

Today's prompt is lively and the suggested form is acrostic. I've always loved writing acrostics. I looked at the list of words given on the prompt page—spirited, gutsy, determined, feisty, zealous—and most of my acquaintances would say that none of them describe me at all. I am famous for being very quiet and introverted. My closest friends and family would know that I can be all of the above, however, if the right circumstances are met.

Feisty Quiet

Family know I can be spirited;
Everyone else thinks I’m always composed.
Inside my soul,
Searing control
Takes all of
Your anger transposed.

Quickly I go
Under the deeps,
Into my head,
Ever to keep
To myself.

OctPoWriMo 11 - Under Your Hand

Today is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada, so instead of using today's prompt, I wrote an acrostic about what I'm thankful for.

Under Your Hand

There is so much I
Have to be thankful for:
All my
Needs are met, and there is unlimited
Knowledge at my fingertips.

Yes I
Own all I need. I live
Under Your hand.

OctPoWriMo 1 - Clouds

Today is the first day of OctPoWriMo 2015, and today's prompt is clouds. I've decided to write an acrostic about the different types of clouds, and I've attempted a bit of rhyme as well.

Clouds

Come and watch the clouds with me.
Light and fluffy cirrus—lie back and float away.
Oncoming storm: we watch it grow, filling all we see,
Uncaring cumulous, huge and dark and grey.
Darkness falls: silent, cold, and bleak;
Stratus creeps across the sky, ending day.

OctPoWriMo 12 - Desire

Today's prompt is desire. I wrote this in church this morning.

Desire

Deep within me burns a fire,
Everlasting, strong desire.
Surrender to the raging flame,
I will never be the same.
Rain and wind inside my soul,
Ever storming, ever whole.

OctPoWriMo 8 - Kill the Moon

Today, the prompt is the moon, and the suggested type is acrostic. I just watched the newest episode of Doctor Who last night, "Kill the Moon," so that's all that I have in my head today. If you don't watch Doctor Who, I highly recommend it.

Kill the Moon

Keep the lights turned on for life;
It’s your choice to wield the knife.
Let it live, you may end all
Life on earth—you make the call.

Turn your face toward the sky:
Hecate’s light glows from on high.
Everything some time must die.

Make your choice—you have no time—
Only, it may be a crime:
One you always will lament, and
Never can repent.

OctPoWriMo 31 - ALPHA OMEGA

Today is the last day of OctPoWriMo 2013. Today's prompt asked us to think about beginnings and endings.

All that I am, I
Lay at Your feet.
Please don’t deny my
Heartfelt request,
Ah, Lord.

Oh my God, You
Make beginnings and
Endings, and You
Give to me
All good things.

OctPoWriMo 25 - Love is Us

Laughing together
Over nothing sometimes
Very happy together
Each day is better

I complete you and you complete me
Somehow two became one

Understanding
Sacrificing

Love is us
